Rikke Sandberg

Rikke Sandberg er en af de mest hyldede unge musikere i Danmark. Siden sin debut fra Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatoriums Solistklasse i 2002 har hun ikke modtaget andet end roser fra anmelderne for sine solooptrædener og cd-indspilninger og i 2005 modtog hun den prestigefyldte Anmelderringens Kunstnerpris.

Rikke begyndte at spille klaver som 8årig og og blev allerede som 16årig optaget påDet Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium med topkarakterer efter at have vundet flere 1. Præmier ved Steinway Festivallen og årets eneste Guldmedalje i Berlingskes Klassiske Musikkonkurrence i 1994. Hun studerede hos Anne Øland og JoséRibera med efterfølgende studier i New York hos Nina Svetlanova og Jacob Lateiner ved Manhattan School of Music og Juilliard School. Fra 2006 virkede hun som assistent for Professor JoséRibera på Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium og er siden blevet ansat både på DKDM og Syddansk Musikkonservatorium som klaverlærer. Hun har desuden siddet som jurymedlem i den tyske musikkonkurrence “Jugend Musiziert”og giver ofte master classes for talentfulde unge pianister på landets MGK musikskoler.

Hun har som solist optrådt med bl.a. DR Symfoniorkestret, Tivoli Symfoniorkester, DKDM’s Symfoniorkester, de fleste landsdelsorkestre, Tivolis Promenadeorkester, DR Underholdningsorkestret, Leipzig Kammerorkester, Luxembourg Philharmonia, og Den Kongelige Livgardes Musikkorps i samarbejde med bl.a. Dausgaard, Bellincampi, Cernat, Storgaards, Mei Ann Chen, De la Parra, Fischer, Mandeal og Porcelain.

Rikke har modtaget mange af de største danske hæderspriser og legater, heriblandt; Jacob Gades Store Legat, Carl Nielsens Rejselegat, Victor Schiølers Mindelegat, Aenchenn og Eigil Harbys ”Ungdommens Sonningpris”, Helge og Merete Finsens Hæderslegat og rejselegater bl.a. fra Wilhelm Hansen Fonden, Augustinus Fonden og Léonie Sonnings Fond. Hendes solo cd fra 2005 med værker af Brahms blev kåret som Årets CD i P2’s musikprogram ”Amadeus” og selv blev hun udnævnt som Årets Klassiske Musiker i Dagbladet Politiken.

Hun har givet solokoncerter over hele Norden, i store dele af Europa og i USA i bl.a. Alice Tully Hall, Concertgebouw og Musikhalle Hamburg og og hun har samarbejdet med navne som Sabine Meyer, Phillippe Berrod, Nikolaj Znaider, Radek Barborak og Vincent Lucas og med mange andre af Nordens største solister og koncertmestre. Hun er kunstnerisk leder af Tisvilde og Langvad Klassiske Musikfestivaller og har foruden sine to CD soloudgivelser med værker af Brahms og Rachmaninov og Anders Koppels Dobbeltkoncert for klaver og saxofon med DR Symfoniorkestret også indspillet filmmusik til ”Afgrunden” med DR Underholdningsorkestret , ”Rebus” med bandet Mad Cows Sing, ”Symbiosis” med Tanja Zapolski og Liszt 2. Klaverkoncert og Rachmaninovs 2. Klaverkoncert med Luxembourg Philharmonia.

 

Rikke Sandberg

Born 1977, Copenhagen, Denmark

Rikke Sandberg is one of the most prolific young musicians in Denmark. Since her debut from the Royal Danish Academy of music´s soloist class in 2002, she has received wide critical acclaim for her solo recitals and CD recordings. In 2005, she received the prestigious Andmeldingens Artist Award.

Rikke began to play the piano at the age of 8. She was accepted to the Royal Danish Academy of Music at the age of 16, studying with Anne Øland and Jose Ribera. Whilst there, she was awarded the higest distinction after winning several first prizes at the Steinway Festival and the gold medal at the Berlinske Music Competition. Following her studies in Copenhagen, Rikke went on to study at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, with Nina Svetlanova and Jacob Lateiner, Professor at the Julliard School. On her return to Denmark, Rikke was appointed Jose Ribera`s teaching assistant at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2006. She has been a jury member for the German ” Jugend Musiziert ” Competition and is often invited to give masterclasses throughout Denmark.

Rikke has made solo performances with, amongst others, The Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, The Tivoli Symphony Orchestra, Tivoli`s Promenade Orchestra, The Danish National Radio Chamber Orchestra, the Leipzig Philharmonia, the Luxembourg Philharmonia and the Band of the Royal Danish Lifeguards. She has worked with Dausgaard, Bellincampi, Cernat, Storgaards, Mei Ann Chen, De La Parra, Fischer, Mandeal and Porcelain.

Rikke has been awarded some of Denmark`s most prestigious awards, including Jacob Gade`s Grand Prize, Carl Nielsen`s Travel Scholarship, the Victor Schiøler Memorial Prize, Aenchenn and Eigil Harby`s ” Young Sonning Award ”, the Helge and Merete Finsen Award and scholarships from the Wilhelm Hansen Foundation, Augustinus Foundation and the Leonie Sonning Foundation. Her solo Brahms CD ( 2005 ) was awarded CD of the Year by the Danish Radio ” Amadeus ” program and she was pronounced Classical Musician of the Year by the newspaper Politiken.

She has performed throughout Scandinavia and widely in Europe as well as the United States, with concerts in The Alice Tully Hall, Concertgebouw and Musikhalle Hamburg. She has collaborated with the likes of Sabine Meyer, Nikolaj Znaider, Radek Barborak, Pillippe Berrod, Vincent Lucas and many other acclaimed Soloists and Concertmasters. She is Artistic Director of the Tisvilde and Langvad Music Festivals and has, aside from her two solo Cds ( with works by Brahms and Rachmaninov ) and the Anders Koppel Double Concerto for Piano and Saxophone with the Danish National Radio Orchestra, also recorded music for the film ” The Abyss ” with the Danish National Radio Chamber Orchestra, ” Rebus ” with the band Mad Cows Sing, ” Symbiosis ” with Tanja Zapolski and both Liszt 2nd Piano Concerto and Rachmaninov 2nd Piano Concerto with Luxembourg Philharmonia.
